Chairperson's Message
The AHME Council on Medical Education Consortia is for AHME
members who are involved with consortia of their hospitals and institutions. We
plan the didactic sessions at the Annual Meeting and discuss changes in
consortia at the national level. Ours is a growing contingency of engaging
professionals looking to network, share knowledge and help each other navigate
the challenges that consortia can bring.
The purposes of the Council on Medical Education Consortia are set forth as
follows:
- To
support the mission of the Association for Hospital Medical Education and
provide expertise to the Association in matters pertaining to medical
education consortia.
- To
serve as an information resource to AHME members and their institutions
regarding the development and operation of consortia and the enhancement
of medical education quality.
- To
serve as a forum for the development of new methods and the exchange of
ideas regarding the scope (UGME, GME, CME), governance, organization,
operation, and financing of consortia and other consortium matters of
interest to Association and Council members.
- To advance AHME's interests regarding consortia in matters of state and national health policy and regulation and of medical education accreditation.
