Councils

Join a Council

When you join AHME, you also have the opportunity to join one of four interest groups within AHME. These four councils communicate via the Message Board, as well as meet personally at the Spring Educational Institute. The councils provide a structure and vehicle to identify and bring together four of the populations that it serves through membership. Which council is right for you?

Councils enable members to focus on issues related to specific professional roles or disciplines. The councils include:

  • Council of Administrative Directors of Medical Education (CADME)
  • Council on Continuing Medical Education (CCME)
  • Council on Medical Education Consortia (COMEC)
  • Council of Transitional Year Program Directors (CTYPD)

For some councils, AHME is the only place this population gathers (e.g., Transitional Year Program Directors).

As an AHME member, you can join a council now. There is no additional charge, beyond AHME membership dues, for council membership.  Just have your member ID handy and complete the membership form for the right council for you.
