Term Professional - Administrative Director of Graduate Medical Education

Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of the Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education (GME), direct the planning, development, and implementation of more than 70 training programs within the School of Medicine for approximately 1,000 residents and fellows.
- Responsible and accountable for planning, administering, and monitoring program-related budgets, including $40 million GME house staff budget.
- Work closely with program directors & coordinators, department administrators, and faculty in all areas dealing with the house staff program.
- Work closely with senior administrators from the major teaching hospitals to ensure all administrative, regulatory, legal and Medicare-reimbursement requirements are met.
- Design new initiatives and collaborations with others to ensure programs function efficiently and effectively. Manage the GME office and staff.
- Oversee GME data management and report preparation, including the development of operational and statistical reports for management and regulatory agencies; assists in the development of these as necessary to ensure on-time completion.
- Oversee and enhances work flow for ongoing GME activities, tracks multiple projects and work assignments among GME personnel, and convenes team meetings. Handle related responsibilities as required.
Job Qualifications
- Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree required, Master's Degree preferred preferably in Business Administration or Health Care Administration or related field.
- Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years (7 years preferred) of work experience with substantial portions of this experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Specific skills: Competency in business and fiscal management; an effective collaborative team leader, independent problem solver and decision maker; good analytic skills around administrative program and process redesign; quick learner about ACGME (graduate medical education) institutional standards; general working knowledge of operations within a fast paced, complex healthcare environment.
