Senior Medical Educator
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for providing educational leadership and support in the implementation of ACGME outcome assessments in all residency programs. Coordinate and facilitate educational efforts among faculty, housestaff, and institutional regulatory administrative staff.
Develop innovative methods of teaching and assessment. Direct the development of learning objectives, course material and assessment for each GME specialty and subspecialty, consult with GME programs on their educational needs, develop initiatives for faculty development, and develop specific assessment tools to enable programs to meet ACGME and AOA requirements.
Responsibilities:

1. Outcome Assessment
- Conduct outcome assessment activities as required by the ACGME. Work with Medical Education Office on continued improvements to enhance the process of educational quality assurance in residency education.
- Develop and implement methods for assessing attainment of the general competencies
- Establish goals for assessment plans consistent with the Outcomes Project of the ACGME. Provide educational assessment of training programs in relation to outcome measures based on evaluation tools used in GME.
- Show evidence of how programs use educational outcomes data to improve individual resident's and overall program performance
- Work with GME programs and faculty to develop, coordinate and implement a variety of appropriate educational services and assessment processes for GME.
- Use outcome data to facilitate continuous improvement

2. Faculty Development
- Conduct faculty development workshops with focus on methods of resident evaluation. Assist in the development of evaluation and assessment tools such as 360 evaluations, portfolios based on requirements for all GME programs.
- Evaluate faculty development activities.
- Develop and deliver "train the trainer" programs in education for faculty.

3. GME Teaching and Research
- Demonstrate continuous improvement in educational processes
- Provide evidence of programs' effectiveness in preparing residents for practice
- Develop, coordinate and implement a variety of educational services for GME.
- Provide consultative services on best practice approach for enhancing the effectiveness of academic clinical programs that meets accreditation requirements.
- Provide support in the academic administration of GME where needed/necessary to support the Designated Institutional Official (DIO) and the Director of Medical Education in the management of educational arenas in GME.
- Perform other functionally related duties as assigned.
Skills:
Self-directed, flexible, adaptable to needs of GME
Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Education, Administration, and/or Training and Development with a thorough knowledge of GME. Doctoral Degree preferred. Five or more years of upper management experience in graduate medical education in a hospital environment. A minimum of three years of experience with ACGME requirements. Medical education research experience desired. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and organization. Ability to initiate, manage and complete multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously. Experience in meeting accreditation requirements, training and development.
