Position Title: Accreditation and Compliance Manager
Reports To: Director of Educational Design and Technology
Job SummaryThe Accreditation and Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with the criteria, essentials and standards of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the ACCME self study process, and standards required for Continuing Medical Laboratory Education (CMLE). This is a full-time position in our downtown Chicago office. The position monitors the requirements under the Maintenance of Certification (MOC) and Certification of Maintenance (CMP) programs and works with the Director of Educational Design and Technology to coordinate development of educational content to help members address and meet such needs. The role is responsible for day to day maintenance of documentation and records related to any requirements, standards and/or guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities
· Ensure adherence to ACCME essential areas, standards and policies for CME accreditation as well as standards for CMLE, including submission of reports across the entire organization.
· Establish and enforce policies related to CME and CMLE
· Manage the CMLE approved programs project; review applications, process payments, monitor institution/organization compliance with guidelines, corresponds with applicants, issues reminder/renewal letters, issues certificates, prepares budgets and monitors expenses.
· Assure compliance with various accrediting, regulatory and statutory requirements for CME and CMLE activities (California, Florida and CME Broker) for laboratory personnel licensure requirements.
· Create a workflow that integrates with product development for new and existing products to ensure all requirements for CME/CMLE activities are met
· Educate new and existing staff on ACCME updated criteria and/or any revisions or changes to standards that relate to CME or CMLE activities. Create tools and resources for use within the Division of CPD to help product managers document, show evidence and ensure compliance with standards.
· Guide program managers in conducting short and long term evaluations of CME/CMLE activities, analyze the results, and communicate to the appropriate Committee(s) for use in education planning.
· Collaborate and coordinate with other departments and Division of CPD to ensure that the needs of members relating to the Maintenance of Certification (MOC) and Certification of Maintenance (CMP) programs are met.
· Collaborate with departments and product managers in planning and developing certified CME/CMLE activities.
· Review activity files and ensure compliance. Provide input and feedback to product managers and other staff to fill any gaps identified in the files.
· Collect data and create the reports necessary to show evidence that the updated criteria and any other standards related to approved programs (CME,CMLE, CMP, MOC) offered by ASCP are met.
· Work with ASCP volunteers (including the Commission on Continuing Professional Development) to interpret and understand CME/CMLE essentials, criteria, standards, policies and procedures and assist them in ensuring compliance.
· Responsible for the continuous ACCME self study process for the overall CME program including an annual evaluation of the overall CME program and its component activities.
· Interface with the ACCME on accreditation issues and with the AMA on credit issues. Prepare the ACCME annual report and all other documents related to the maintenance of accreditation.
· Provide data and input as needed towards the overall ASCP educational effectiveness report.
· Direct the administration of the ASCP transcript system.
Job SpecificationsEducational Background:
· Bachelor's degree required, Education or related field.
Required Qualifications:
· Excellent diction, grammar, and vocabulary both verbal and written with the ability to
organize, structure and communicate information and ideas clearly.
· Computer proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
· Exceptional customer service skills, including ability to work with ASCP staff,
volunteers, faculty and authors.
· Ability to collaborate within and across departments to achieve departmental and
organizational goals.
· Organized self starter with ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects with minimal
supervision.
Desired Qualifications:
· Master's degree in Adult, Continuing or Professional Education preferred.
· Familiarity with accreditation and compliance a plus.
· Experience in educational outcomes and measurement preferred.
· Educational or work experience in continuing medical education and program evaluation
a plus.
Some travel and occasional weekend committee assignments would be associated with the position.
