The College of Osteopathic Medicine at Michigan State University seeks applications for the full-time position of Director of the Osteopathic Medical Curriculum. Responsibilities involve working with departmental faculty to provide oversight of curriculum planning, implementation, and evaluation of the pre-clerkship and clerkship curriculum. The Director develops policy, offers curriculum/faculty development leadership, develops and refi nes implementation processes, and works with course support, instructional technology, and Student Services staff for the delivery of the curriculum at the college's three campus sites (East Lansing, Detroit, Clinton Township, Michigan). The Director chairs the monthly Systems Biology Coordinators meeting and
monitors Course Assistants for the Systems Biology courses.
The candidate must possess strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills, familiarity with curriculum models and instructional technology, distance education, accreditation policies, and the ability to conceptualize as well as to track and monitor details. Demonstrated leadership experience in an education environment and an advanced degree are required. Experience in medical education is recommended. Maintenance of some academic activities is expected.
This is a calendar-year appointment that will be available at the completion of the search process. Faculty appointment and starting salary will be based on the applicant's qualifications.
