The Synergy Organization has been retained by a financially secure and highly respected Health System in the Philadelphia, PA area to conduct the nationwide search for an Osteopathic Director of Medical Education. With 4,700 employees and a medical staff membership of approximately 1,000, the system is made up of Three Hospitals with a combined total of 485 beds, Two Outpatient Facilities and a full network of Primary and Specialty Care Physician Offices.

Fully dedicated to the education and development of healthcare professionals, The Graduate Medical Education Department offers Osteopathic Internships, Osteopathic Residency Programs in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Combined Programs in Family Practice/Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine/Emergency Medicine along with a 3-year Podiatry Residency Program.

The Osteopathic Director of Medical Education is responsible for: 1) Providing leadership, direction and global oversight of all Graduate Medical Education (GME) programs. 2) As the administrative Designated Institutional Officer (DIO), the Director establishes system wide policies and procedures for all residency programs consistent with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements. 3) The provision of direct supervision and oversight of the residency program directors and serving as a mentor and resource for professional development.

The Osteopathic Director of Medical Education must be a Doctor of Osteopathy and be able to serve as both an expert resource and a dynamic leader. A Board Certification in a primary specialty and the ability to obtain a Pennsylvania License along with five or more years of Graduate Medical Education Leadership Experience are required. Advanced degrees (MPH, MMM, etc.) or academic fellowship are preferred.
