JOB DESCRIPTION: Directs the strategic planning, development, and implementation of program. Collaborates with representatives from private, government, and international agencies. Represents the program in various national and international fora. Conducts research, designs new initiatives, writes publishable articles and papers, collaborates with others, and designs programs. May supervise staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in field related to specific program as indicated and five years program related experience, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training. Master's degree preferred.

Residents and medical students rotate through six institutions with unique patient characteristics and teaching strengths. This position provides administrative leadership and management to the various Surgery Education programs, including the General Surgery Residency Program and Surgery Medical Student Programs, as well as various educational courses taught throughout the year by our faculty.
This position involves a high level of independence and reliability under the direction of the Residency Program Director and Director of Medical Student Education. Duties include daily supervision of education team staff, management of the various surgery education courses, and establishment and fulfillment of programmatic and strategic initiatives.
This position requires:
- Ability to network outside of the Department at all levels, both at Emory and
other institutions
- Experience with program management and evaluation
- Program budget management experience
- Experience supervising others
- Exceptional problem-solving and time management skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
Additionally, experience with Blackboard is desired. Interest in education
research is a plus. Occasional weekend work may be necessary.
